COSHH stands for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, and is concerned primarily with the safe handling, usage and storage of chemicals and substances that pose a danger to the health of either those handling the substances or to other people.

This course will give candidates the understanding to manage their responsibility when dealing with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and help your company achieve a safe working environment.

  • COSHH regulations and principles
  • Undertaking a suitable COSHH risk assessment and identifying controls
  • The need for safe use and storage of hazardous substances (including PPE)
  • Preparing and maintaining records (including Material Safety Data Sheets)
  • Undertaking appropriate training
  • Health surveillance

Aim

To give candidates an awareness and basic understanding on the importance of procedures, safe handling and risk assessment of hazardous substances within their organisation.

This course aims to give candidates a sound understanding of their personal and legal responsibilities for the control of chemical and hazardous substances.
